msia nite
>> Saturday, September 8
Sorry about keep changing my layout. Just experimenting with the html codes. BUT. i normally do them halfway since its pretty time consuming to deal with them eh? Btw, Dont worry about too much of my geography orientated discussion sometimes. haha decided not to have them too much in my blog now. I m telling everyone that i gona join the 'ENVIRO WASTE' of NZ after i graduate. Since, high possibility i m joining the unemployments. Doing masters is one cool thing (wan to!) but then, i need to rob a bank to do that. Prolly not, don wana spend 20yrs of my life behind bars. I don have a brain like Michael Scofield (DROOLS! eventho he's a gay)
Just went to Malam Malaysia.
It's pretty good. I actually likes the skit and so on.
It begun with a F5 kid preparing for SPM, going through his history textbook and tells the history of Malaysia. Of cos, it aint that simple (I'll be sleeping dead if it was) They added in random stuff to make the history itself funny.
The flow is pretty smooth if you ask me. (I pity the curtain though)
The thing i like about it is about how its culturally driven than being too westernized, having sidetrack from its own purpose being a 'cultural night' thing.
So i m perfectly happy how they follow the 'cultural theme' and stuff. I love cultural diversity. That creates our own space and identity somehow.
For example: How they joke about~
English Tea + Dutch Lady milk = Teh Tarik
(some parts of msia were once colonised by dutch and english)
It does resemble how colonization introduce new stuff and we create our own.
Also...
I love the fact they uses malay songs for a lot of their performaces
Their ideas of incorporating some malaysian advertorials are pretty hilarious as wel. HAH Showing how commercialised we can get at times.
Btw, i think the 2008OMSA president is a funny dude too
he played heaps of roles. Esp the role in 'Portuguese invading Msia 1511' It cracked me up soo many times. HAH HAH.
Love their malay conversation (yes, i do understand the simple part) I m tri-lingual. Mandarin, English and Malay. Even though all aint too good, but well. i can communicate i guess.
These ppl made the performance possible

Hah, its a bit funny when i started to know more about Malaysia after i embark my study life in NZ. Now, its a cool thing i learn more about it. There's a huge possiblity i may spend the rest of my life there (which is not exactly a bad thing) Or maybe, i stuck in some rural area and help with the development there. i did tok about matchmaking at the age 35 previously... on 2nd tot, prolly not. I rather go Africa/Vietnam/Latin America/China and starve myself thin there.
